Henselite Tiger Pro

The Tiger Pro is a great all year round bowl as it acts on both fast and slow paced surfaces. It is at home on a variety of green speeds and surfaces.

As I write this (April 2026) I’m on my third set of Tiger Pros.

  • 1st set: Size 5 Midnight Blue
  • 2nd set: Size 4 Ocean Green
  • 3rd set: Size 4 Bermuda Slice (Special Edition)

Quite simply, the Tiger Pro is the best bowl I’ve ever played with.

And the size 5 was the best of them.

The only reason I dropped down to size 4 was the Scottish climate.
The bowls were just a little bit slippy to hold when playing outdoor in torrential rain in May, June, July and August.
The size 5 would still be fine indoor.

The size 4’s are great; I’m not totally convinced they take the same line as a size 5. I think 4’s have a little bit more of a bend at the finish but that’s only my opinion.

Key Features

Pros

Narrower Feel: It has a “slightly slimmer profile in the hand” than other models.
Ergonomic Design: The profile is designed to be easier to hold, particularly in wet conditions, due to its shape and dimple grip.
Bias Comparison: It sits between the original Tiger and the Tiger II in terms of draw, offering a narrower, more direct line to the jack than the full-bias Tiger.
Versatility: Its profile makes it a popular, versatile option for both indoor and faster, modern outdoor surfaces.

Cons

Playing Outdoor: This is only my observation, but if you are playing on a green with ‘funny’ or straight runs, or ruts, the Tiger Pro has a tendency to find them – spoiling what looks like a perfect line. Of course you could say this might be used to your advantage. This isn’t unique to the Tiger Pro; I’ve found this happens with Tigers and Tiger IIs.

Taylor bowls (Ace, Blaze, Vector) don’t seem to struggle as much with tricky runs.

That said, the Tiger Pro remains my bowl of choice.

(Although the Aero Revolution is close behind)
